Scott Harvey-Lewis is the visionary President and owner of Building Mavens, a preeminent Milestone Inspections and Engineering Consulting Firm based in the heart of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. As a licensed professional engineer with over a decade of experience and nearly two decades of dedicated engineering expertise, he is exceptionally qualified in delivering a comprehensive suite of services in structural engineering, including design, construction, administration, and forensic analysis, catering to clients and projects across the public and private sectors.

Scott’s deep-rooted passion lies in not only creating innovative engineering solutions but also ensuring their strict adherence to safety standards and building codes. His unwavering commitment extends across all phases of a project, from conceptualization to the final inspection, ensuring the integrity of each endeavor.

In 2004, Scott earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the prestigious Florida Institute of Technology. His early career saw him take on the role of a structural designer at BRPH. Building on these foundational experiences, he continued his educational journey by pursuing a Masters of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida, all the while contributing as a project engineer at Kimley-Horn. In 2010, Scott proudly achieved his Masters and embarked on a dynamic journey through several leadership roles in leading engineering firms in Boca and West Palm Beach, Florida. These roles included project manager at Slider Engineering Group, senior structural engineer at Lawless and Mangione, senior manager at Rambolli Environ, and senior structural engineer at The Falcon Group.

In 2016, Scott joined M2E, a distinguished multi-disciplinary engineering firm with a national presence. Over the next five years, he soared through the ranks, assuming roles as department head, Vice President, and, ultimately, Senior Vice President. His professional voyage then led him to Engineering Express where he served as Vice President of Engineering.

With an abundance of knowledge and experiences propelling him forward, Scott embarked on a new chapter in January 2022 by founding his own engineering firm, Building Mavens.

Today, Scott holds the role of a trusted forensic engineer at Building Mavens. His responsibilities include investigating structural failures, identifying building construction defects, and ensuring code compliance, all on behalf of attorneys, owners, developers, and insurance companies. He provides expert guidance and delivers sworn testimony, consistently maintaining the highest levels of professionalism.

Scott’s strong design portfolio encompasses pivotal phases of project development, spanning from the initial conceptual design and plan preparation to the construction and final inspection stages. His expertise covers a broad spectrum of structural elements, including building envelope systems, cast-in-place concrete, steel, masonry, and timber design, applicable to commercial and residential structures, telecommunication and educational facilities, marinas, industrial plants, warehouses, storage and containment, as well as land development. His work has been celebrated and showcased in multiple community association publications.

Scott’s professional standing is underscored by his credentials: he holds a license from the Florida Board of Professional Engineers (PE #70681), is LEED AP certified ( #10441171-AP-BD+C), and has achieved certification as a Bulletproof Manager through Crestcom International. He is also an active member of numerous esteemed engineering societies and organizations, including the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Florida Engineering Society (FES), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI), and the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI).
